TXT2Remind GP Rollout in Nelson Region

Nelson Bays Primary Health (NBPH) has entered into a roll out phase  with Vensa Health to assist 27 Nelson Bays practices to acquire the SMS text-capable technology, TXT2REMIND, to communicate with their patients.

Nelson Bays Primary Health (NBPH) has entered into a roll out phase  with Vensa Health to assist 27 Nelson Bays practices to acquire the SMS text-capable technology, TXT2REMIND, to communicate with their patients.

"The purpose of this contract is to alleviate the financial burden for practices who wish to explore text messaging as an alternative method of communicating with their patients. NBPH would expect to see administration costs within practices diminish as postage is replaced with text messaging. There are also benefits in reminders for appointments especially immunisations, smoking cessation, VRA, diabetes annual reviews etc. In addition, the time taken to notify laboratory results or time taken to phone patients to request a follow-up may be reduced." Says Margaret Gibbs.

The rollout for the region will begin in September and is scheduled in two phases with Phase 2 scheduled in Quarter 2 2010.
